Since its founding eight years ago, the organizers have raised more than $25,000 for Wakefield families through the annual event which brings 80 to 100 participants to local restaurants.

Funds raised at the event and donations, help fulfill holiday wish lists and help pay utility bills, after-school and enrichment programs, gas, clothes, school lunches, and groceries among other basic necessities for Wakefield residents in need

The Savings Bank has seen an uptick in scams generated from computer pop-ups. One scam begins with a pop-up message with a number to call to speak with Microsoft support. Customers are then told to withdraw cash and use the money to purchase cryptocurrency at a specified location. Read more.
