Bill Payment Services FAQs

Q: What bills may I pay through Bill Payment?
A: You can pay most bills using Bill Payment - charge accounts, utilities, auto loans, even your doctor or day-care center. There are, however, organizations that will not accept payments via Bill Payment, such as the IRS and other taxing entities, court directed or Government related payments.

Q: How do I sign up for Bill payment?
A: You must have a personal checking account with The Savings Bank. When you click on the Bill Pay button, you will need to accept the Terms and Conditions. You will then be enrolled in real-time and can start setting up payees and paying bills immediately.

Q: When is Bill Payment available?
A: You may schedule payments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q: What happens if there are non-sufficient funds (NSF)?
A: NSFs for bill pay are processed like any other debit. Other payments are not blocked or stopped. If more than two NSFs occur in close proximity, all payments will be sent by paper check until the bill pay service recovers the funds extended.

Q: How do I skip a recurring payment?
A: Recurring payments cannot be skipped, only deleted resulting in all future payments being deleted.

Q: When is my account debited?
A: In most cases your account is debited on the Pay Date. When draft (personal) checks are sent to a payee, the debit occurs when the check clears through TSB' clearing process.

Q: Can I pay bills to payees outside the U.S.?
A: No. Payments cannot be made to Payees outside the U.S.

Q: I noticed that a payee address has changed. Why is that?
A: Payees supply an updated address after a payment is received. When this happens, the address is automatically updated in the Payee Administrative area

Q: Who do I contact if my bill was not paid?
A: Customer Care can be reached at 800-877-8021 from 7am et to 1am et, 7 days per week.

Q: What happens if my check payment is never cashed?
A: After 90 days, funds are credited to your account.
